Short Course “Designing and Conducting Climate Finance Policy Research for Indonesia’s Energy Transition”

About This Event
Climate finance plays a strategic role in advancing Indonesia’s energy transition by mobilizing and allocating financial resources to support low-carbon development and climate-resilient growth. As climate finance policies, instruments, and financing mechanisms continue to evolve, researchers and policy analysts are increasingly expected to develop a comprehensive understanding of regulatory frameworks, institutional governance, and the complex decision-making processes that shape climate finance implementation.
Addressing these challenges requires strengthening research capacity beyond conceptual knowledge to include the practical application of rigorous methodologies in policy analysis and research design. Targeted technical capacity-building is therefore essential to ensure that research is methodologically sound, policy-relevant, and aligned with Indonesia’s evolving climate finance priorities and energy transition agenda.
In response to this need, the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC), through its RECLICKS by PYC program, in collaboration with the FINCAPES (Flood Impacts, Carbon Pricing, and Ecosystem Sustainability) Project at the University of Waterloo, Canada, is organizing a short course entitled “Designing and Conducting Climate Finance Policy Research for Indonesia’s Energy Transition.” The program is designed to strengthen the technical and analytical capacities of researchers, including participants of the RECLICKS by PYC Call for Proposal 2026, enabling them to produce high-quality, evidence-based research that contributes to informed policymaking and supports Indonesia’s transition toward a sustainable, low-carbon future.
