Indonesia is already facing the climate crisis
Climate change is no longer a future threat for Indonesia — it is happening now. Rising sea levels, extreme weather, and ecosystem disruption are already impacting communities and key economic sectors.
The challenge isn’t commitment but it’s execution
Indonesia has committed to cutting emissions 32–43% below BAU, yet execution lags. The energy sector remains fossil fuel-dependent, renewable rollout is slow in remote areas, and industries lack clear decarbonization frameworks. The missing piece is effective climate finance.
RECLICKS closes the climate action gap
Bridging that gap requires research, strong institutions, and innovative financial mechanisms. Established by PYC in partnership with the University of Waterloo through the FINCAPES Project, RECLICKS combines research, capacity-building, and multi-stakeholder collaboration to accelerate Indonesia’s low-carbon transition.
